Hello Graduate Students,
SAGE would like to remind you of a few key events coming up next week.
Spring General Assembly (April 2)
The SAGE Spring General Assembly will be on Thursday, April 2 at 1 pm in LB 646. There will be a report from the Budget Committee, Headlight Anthology, and the English Graduate Colloquium Committee. There will be a vote on the changes/additions to the SAGE By-laws. Last but not least, there will be a formal call for nominations for a new SAGE Council for the 2015-2016 school year.
Emergency General Assembly (March 31)
We are hosting an Emergency General Assembly on Tuesday, March 31 at 4 pm in LB 659. The EGA will discuss striking and other anti-austerity measures. A reminder that the vote during this GA affects everyone in the cohort. Voting will be by secret ballot. Please bring your Concordia Student ID.
SAGE Statement on Colloquium
Due to the low faculty (academic and creative) turnout at this year’s annual colloquium, SAGE and the Colloquium Committee voiced their disappointment to the faculty during the last department meeting. We have posted the letter on our website. We are looking for suggestions, not just from faculty but also from the cohort, on how to improve faculty participation at SAGE and Colloquium events.
SAGE has posted the 2015 Council Meetings on our website.
We have also posted the Coffee Talk resources and information on our website, including the handouts for “Working at CEGEP” and “Creative Writing Grants How to.”
For graduate students in the creative stream, we’ve put up deadlines and thesis information.
Concordia Write Nights
Concordia Write Nights’s end of year reading will take place in April (more information soon). If you would like to read some of your work at the reading, please email email@example.com. Watch the SAGE website and CWN’s Facebook group for more information on our reading night as it becomes available.
If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org or approach any of your SAGE council members.
